Chapter 6: When Life Gives You Clones
A few minutes later, a tall, pale skinned human male with short brown hair, wearing a government issue black suit and red tie, stepped out into a three way hallway junction. As the man slowly gazed over the blood stained concrete walls and the motionless bodies of half a dozen black clad troopers strewn across the floor with a look of icy disinterest, two more troops quickly ran up to him and flanked him on either side. “The test subject is gone, sir. And there’s no sign of the hostile intruder, either.” One of the troopers reported, voice muffled slightly by his gas mask.
However, upon then noticing a thin trail of crimson coloured stains leading down one of the corridors away from the scene, the man pointed a finger down towards the trail, and remarked coldly “I don’t suppose that would count as a sign, corporal.”
In response to this, the corpo

Chapter 5: Area Unknown
After taking a moment to recover his senses from the shock of the scene he had just witnessed, David responded meekly “Um… would you mind… getting me out of these restraints first…?”
At that moment, the male human reached into one of his jacket pockets, and withdrew from it some sort of small, round ended bar-like object. He then flicked his thumb down on a tiny switch on one end of the device, causing a short, sharp metal blade to suddenly flip out from within it. As the human then brought the blade down towards him, David closed his eyes tightly shut and cringed once again, expecting the worst. However, upon feeling the dull end of the blade simply brushing against the fur of his left paw as the strap restraining it was quickly cut loose, Doctor Gray opened his eyes once more to look at the human, and asked timidly “Wh-who are you…?”

The next morning, Ace, Ben and Pepper were making their way through Treasure Town on their way towards the Wigglytuff Guild. As soon as the trio finished the exhausting climb up the steps to the guild entrance, which consisted of a small structure in the shape of a Wigglytuff’s head with a metal gate blocking the opening in the front, Ace turned to Pepper, and asked dryly “Okay, so… now what?”
“Um… I think we’re supposed to stand up on that grate over there, so the sentry at the bottom can identify our footprints.” Pepper guessed with a slight shrug, gesturing with a vine towards what appeared to be a deep, round hole in the ground covered with a grate made of crisscrossed bamboo sticks located directly between the staircase and the main entrance.
“That’s their security system? Really?” Ace inquired flatly. “I know

Chapter 4: The Doctor’s Operation
In an unknown location…
David slowly opened his eyes to a glaring white light in his face. Am I… dead…? he immediately wondered silently to himself. However, as his vision gradually began to sharpen, the scientist soon noticed that the source of the light was in fact coming from some kind of large overhead lamp, and that he appeared to be in a small, grey walled room of some sort. Upon noticing his vision failing to clear completely, David quickly realized he was missing something, and attempted to reach out in search of his inherited eyewear, only to discover that his paws and feet seemed to be immobilized by some form of sturdy fabric restraints. “Wh-what’s going on…?! Where am I…?!” the captive Ferren stammered in panic.
At that moment, upon seeing a slightly blurry, tall, bipedal, furless and tailless figure dressed in a li
